Literacy Professional Development Programs Appeals

Welcome to the Literacy Professional Development (PD) Programs Appeals online form. 
The California Department of Education (CDE) must receive an appeal submission through this survey for the Proposed Literacy Professional Development (PD) Programs List no later than the deadline posted on the Literacy PD Programs web page. Only PD providers who submitted a program for review, that was not recommended for State Board of Education (SBE) approval, may submit this form. Appeals submitted via means other than use of this survey will not be accepted. 
Per the Invitation to Submit Literacy PD Programs, submitting providers may appeal the review committee's determination not to include a PD program on the list of literacy PD programs that will be recommended for approval by the SBE. Appeals are limited to the grounds that the review committee failed to correctly apply the criteria in the Literacy PD Programs Evaluation Rubric.
The appellant must file a written appeal, including the issue(s) in dispute and the basis for and the evidence to support the appeal position. The CDE will not consider incomplete or late appeals. The appellant may not supply any new materials that were not contained in the original submission. The Division Director of the Professional Learning Support Division (PLSD) will evaluate the appeal and will make the final decision as to whether the PD program will be included on the tentative list recommended to the SBE for approval. The decision will be issued in writing within six weeks of this appeal form's deadline. That decision shall be the final administrative action afforded the appeal
