Project Management "Community of Practice"

CDE is conducting this survey to gain a better understanding of current Project Management (PM) skills and activities that are currently being conducted by the staff within the Department. This is a completely voluntary survey to help us potentially coordinate a “Community of Practice” (CoP) within CDE to advance coordination, collaboration, and outcomes from the project management process.

According to the Project Management Institute (PMI), a CoP is the means to foster social learning that occurs and shared practices that emerge and evolve when people who are distributed throughout an organization and have shared passion and expertise to collaborate to evolve these practices.

Project management uses a specific knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to deliver something of value to the people over a defined period of time using organizational resources. Project management includes working on a team or leading a team to create a defined outcome using a phased approach that includes: defining a project, planning a project, implementing a project, controlling and monitoring a project, and closing a project. This survey is intended to identify how often you perform project management activities in your current job.
