Straw Bale Gardening in Child Nutrition Programs

Welcome to the California Department of Education (CDE) Nutrition Services Division Straw Bale Gardening in Child Nutrition Programs (CNP) (Course Number 332) online training.

By completing this training, you will learn the advantages of a straw bale garden over traditional gardening methods, the steps for creating a straw bale garden, and understand what to do with the straw bales after two growing seasons.
This training takes 36 minutes to complete. Please allow enough time to complete the training in one sitting. At the end of the training, you will be asked to complete a short evaluation which includes a question to assess your interest in creating a straw bale garden. You will then have access to a printable certificate of completion for your records. Completion of this training is not recorded until you select Submit on the final screen.
