This survey, conducted pursuant to Education Code section 35183.2(c)(1), is designed to gather public feedback from Native American/Alaska Native students and parents about their experiences exercising their protected civil right to wear traditional tribal regalia or recognized items of religious or cultural significance as adornments at graduation ceremonies and, particularly any experiences with any impediments, resistance, or discouragement of such protected civil rights. |
Your responses will be sent to the California Department of Education (CDE) and help the Native American Graduation Adornments Taskforce understand the extent of compliance with Section 35183.1 and support efforts to protect students' civil rights. If you have a question about the survey, please send an email to AIEOC@cde.ca.gov. |
If you feel you have been the victim of a civil rights violation, you may file a Uniform Complaint Procedure (UCP) complaint. For more information about your civil rights and how to file a UCP complaint, see the CDE Uniform Complaint Procedures webpage. |
Please take a few minutes to complete this survey. Your responses are confidential, and your identity will not be shared without your consent. All questions are required, unless otherwise specified. |
