Assembly Bill 560:
LEA, COE, and SELPA Administrators, and CBOs

Special Education Division

Introduced and approved in 2025, Assembly Bill (AB) 560 added California Education Code (EC) Section 56364.3, requiring the State Superintendent of Public Instruction (SSPI) to recommend a maximum adult-to-pupil staffing ratio for special day classes authorized pursuant to EC Section 56364.2 for pupils 3 to 22 years of age, inclusive, and post the recommendation on the California Department of Education’s internet website by July 1, 2027.

This survey collects input from local educational agency (LEA) administrators and chief business officials (CBOs) serving at School Sites, School Districts, County Offices of Education (COEs), and Special Education Local Plan Areas (SELPAs).
