Local educational agencies (LEAs) may use the Biliteracy Pathway Recognition Participation Form to indicate that they offer one or more Biliteracy Pathway Recognitions to students who are on the path toward developing biliteracy in preschool through middle school. LEAs must submit a form each year to be included in the list of participating schools and districts that the California Department of Education (CDE) publishes annually.
The CDE requests that this form be submitted to the CDE by July 31 of each year in order to ensure that LEAs are counted in the list of participating schools and districts for the previous school year. The CDE will provide access to the printable Biliteracy Pathway Recognition certificate templates to LEAs who submit a Biliteracy Pathway Recognitions Participation Form. LEAs may choose to use these templates as they are or modify them to fit their local needs. LEAs may add student names and print certificates locally. |
It is strongly recommended that LEAs read the information on the CDE Biliteracy Pathway Recognitions web page before submitting a Biliteracy Pathway Recognitions Participation Form. The CDE requests that LEAs submit the school name(s) and the total number of qualifying students per district. The CDE also requests the program model(s) offered; the languages, other than English, in which students are being recognized; the number of students per language; the number of students with an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) being recognized; and the number of current and former English learners being recognized. Data collected from this form will be reported annually on the CDE Biliteracy Pathway Recognitions web page in September. |
