Adequate Time to Eat

Child Nutrition Advisory Council

The California Nutrition Advisory Council (CNAC) is gathering information on current Adequate Time to Eat (ATE) practices and policies in schools across California. Through this optional survey, the CNAC is interested in learning specific ATE strategies schools are implementing and which strategies are challenging. To assist schools, the Council developed the Adequate Time to Eat Fact Sheet based on evidence-based strategies and recommendations. Please review this fact sheet before completing the survey.

  • The survey will close on Friday, October 30, 2026.
  • One survey response per local educational agency (LEA).
